Secret Santa Hat

Embed a Secret Santa generator on your own website

Copy a small form, paste it into your page: your visitors type in the names and start the draw with one click. Free, no account and no cookies.

Build your snippet and copy it

Pick the language, the color scheme and the link text. The preview and the code below change with your choices.

This is what it looks like

Try it: type three names and press the button. The draw opens in a new tab.

Code to paste

<iframe src="https://www.secretsantahat.org/embed/?theme=light" title="Secret Santa generator: enter names and start the draw" width="100%" height="480" loading="lazy" style="border:0;max-width:520px"></iframe>

Two parts: the frame with the form, and an ordinary link below it. The link tells visitors where the form comes from, so please keep it.

Who puts it on their site

  • Companies and teams. On the intranet page for the holiday party or in the staff area: whoever organizes the gift exchange starts the draw right there, no group email needed.
  • Clubs, parishes and schools. On the club website, the parents' area or the class page: the team, the choir or the class draws names without anyone creating an account.
  • Families and friend groups. On a private family site or a blog: one fixed place where the gift exchange gets drawn every year.
  • Blogs and guides. A post about holiday gifts or team events gets more useful when the tool sits right below it.

Three steps

  1. Choose your options. Pick the language, the color scheme and the link text above.
  2. Copy the code. Press “Copy code”. Both parts belong together.
  3. Paste it into your page. In the HTML view of your editor, in a “Custom HTML” block or in the code field of your site builder.

Where it works

  • WordPress. Add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the code. In the classic editor, switch to the “Text” tab.
  • Google Sites. Choose Insert, then Embed, then “Embed code”, and paste it.
  • Wix, Squarespace, Weebly and other site builders. Use the “Embed HTML” element or the code block and paste the code.
  • Drupal, Joomla and other CMS. Create an HTML block and paste the code. If the editor strips the frame, an administrator has to allow the iframe element.
  • Learning platforms and intranets. If they block frames, the link below the form is still useful: it goes straight to the generator.

Size

The code uses the width of the column up to 520 pixels and a height of 480 pixels. That fits every language. If you need more or less room, change the numbers after width and height.

What happens on click

Your visitors type the names into the form and press “Start the draw”. The Secret Santa generator opens in a new tab with the names already filled in. There they add rules, a budget and a date, and draw.

The draw runs in the browser, and each person's match sits inside the link the organizer sends. To be honest: someone who deliberately takes a link apart can read it. It is a sealed envelope, not a safe, and for family, a club or the office that is usually just right.

The form itself sets no cookies, does not use the visitor's storage, loads nothing from other companies and does not measure anything. The names travel only in the part of the address after the hash sign, which browsers never send to a server.

FAQ

Does it cost anything?

No. Embedding and drawing are free, with no account and no ads.

Do I have to keep the link below the form?

Please do. It shows visitors where the form comes from, and it is the only thing we ask in return. It is an ordinary link.

Do I need a cookie banner for it?

The form sets no cookies, does not touch the visitor's storage and loads nothing from other companies. Because the visitor's IP address reaches our server when the frame loads, the service should be listed as an embedded service in your privacy policy. We cannot give legal advice.

Can I embed the whole draw instead of just the form?

No, on purpose. The draw sends links through messengers and email and remembers rounds in the browser. That works more reliably on the main site than inside someone else's frame. The form leads there.

Can my page see the names that are typed in?

No. The form runs in its own frame, and your page cannot read its content.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The form adapts to the width, down to about 280 pixels.

Can I change the colors or the texts?

You can choose the language and the color scheme. There are no other options, so the form looks the same everywhere.
